About Chamoli

Chamoli is a beautiful heaven for nature lovers and an adventurer's paradise. The district is crammed with temples, housing one of the most religiously significant temples of Hindus, the Badrinath Temple. Three of the five sacred confluences—Nanda Prayag, Karna Prayag, and Vishnu Prayag—also make Chamoli spiritually rejuvenating for pilgrims.

The district's amazing natural beauty is a treat for visitors. Several Himalayan peaks are here, and tiny villages are scattered around. Hindu pilgrims can be seen in large numbers during the Char Dham Yatra, which begins in late April or early May and ends in October. Overall, the climate stays quite pleasant throughout the year, making Chamoli a year-round destination.
